Week 8 Update
5th
Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
Our eighth week
together has come to an end which means we’re nearly halfway through the first
semester of Grade 5. With this in mind, please note that our mid-semester break
begins next Friday, November 4th and there is also no school the
following Monday, November 7th.
It will be the
middle of November before we know it, so please keep in mind that our
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on the evenings of November 16th
and 17th. I look forward to discussing your child’s progress with
you then.
What we learned This

Math: Topic 4 – Dividing by one-digit divisors. Topic 4 Test
next Friday.
Literacy: Introduction to Informational Writing/My Side of
the Mountain/Nouns
Science: Chapter 1 – Properties of Matter

Dear Parents,
Week 6 has ended
and we find ourselves in the middle of October. The end of the first quarter of
Grade 5 is approaching and it is heartening to see how much the students have
grown and learned in these first few weeks.

ensure that your child logs in to his or her RAZ-Kids account as often as
he/she possibly can and make sure that they understand what they read.
- Please
sign your child’s homework book every day and ensure that they have
completed their homework.
- Please
sign any tests sent home and send them back the very next day.
